Search Tips
Part Number Search:
This search function will return a list of part
numbers based upon the characters entered into the search box. A minimum of three (3)
characters is required to initiate a search, and the characters * or % can be used as wildcard characters, i.e. "82*37". The search function will return
Intersil device numbers based upon the presence of the character string in the
device or marketing part number, or in the SMD corresponding to that device.
Returned information for each part number will
include the device number, a description and a link to the
product data sheet (small PDF icon). In addition, the device number itself
is linked to its device information page which will link to all documentation
associated with that part number including data sheets, application notes,
evaluation kits, etc.
Full Site Keyword Search:
This search function returns any document in which the
desired part number, word or phrase appears. All documents on the web site are
included in this search. There will be many more documents returned as a result of
this search. However. the product or subject of the search may not be the main
subject of the document.
Procedure: to use this search page, you
can look for a single word. Or, use the tips below to refine your search to find more
specific results.
- When searching for a particular part
number (e.g. HI5702), the prefix (e.g. 'HI') is required for optimal Entire Site Search
performance. If you know only the root part number (e.g. 5702) and are not sure of the
proper prefix, use Product Search first. Enter the root part number into the Product
Search, hit Search and the part number will be returned to you with the prefix.
- When looking for a family of products, say
all members of the HI family, use HI*. The * is a wildcard that will aid you in finding
all products with a shared element.
- Look for a phrase.
Example - type battery management to find the exact phrase battery management.
Since the search is not case-sensitive, this is equivalent to Battery Management.
- Look for two or more words at once by using
the AND operator.
Example - type battery AND management to find documents that have both the
word battery and the word management anywhere.
- Look for words that are close to each other
by using the NEAR operator instead of the AND operator. When you use NEAR, the closer
together the words are, the higher the rank of the page, so the higher it appears in the
list of search results.
Example - type battery NEAR management to match
documents where the word battery is within 50 words of the word management.
- Look for similar words by using the OR
operator. Note that if you don't use the OR operator and search using multiple words, the
words are treated as a phrase.
Example - type battery OR management to find the word battery or the word management,
but not necessarily both.
- Limit your search by using the AND NOT
operator to exclude words.
Example - type battery AND NOT management to find all instances of battery,
as long as battery is not followed by the phrase management.
- Use double quotes if you want to use AND,
OR, NOT, or NEAR literally.
Example - type "battery near management" to find documents with the
phrase battery near management. Without the double quotes, this query would use
the NEAR operator instead of the phrase.
- Use a single asterisk (*) to look for words
that begin with the same letters.
Example - type key* to find key, keying, keyhole, keyboard,
and so on.
- Use a double asterisk (**) to look for all
forms of a word.
Example - type power** to match power, powering, powered, and powerful.
