President, Chief Executive Officer, and Director
Dr. Sayiner joined Intersil as President, CEO and Director on March 14, 2013. Prior to joining Intersil, from September 2005 to April 2012, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer, and Director of Silicon Laboratories, a fabless semiconductor company engaged in the design of analog-intensive, mixed-signal integrated circuits. Prior to joining Silicon Laboratories, Dr. Sayiner held various leadership positions at Agere Systems Inc., which included Executive Vice President and General Manager, Enterprise and Networking Division from August 2004 to September 2005; and Vice President and General Manager, Networking ICs Division from March 2002 to August 2004. In September 2013, Dr. Sayiner was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) and in November 2014, Dr. Sayiner was appointed 2015 Vice Chairman of the SIA.
Dr. Sayiner holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Physics from Bosphorus University in Turkey, an M.S. in Engineering from Southern Illinois University, and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.
Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer
Rick Crowley joined Intersil as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in 2013. Mr. Crowley has been a CFO at various complex, multinational semiconductor firms since 1998. He was most recently the senior vice president and CFO for Integrated Device Technology (IDT) where he drove major restructuring efforts to improve operating results. Prior to joining IDT in 2008, Mr. Crowley was the vice president of finance and chief financial officer at Micrel for nine years where he played a key role in improving profitability and capital structure. Mr. Crowley holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Notre Dame and a Master of Management degree in Accounting and Finance from Northwestern University.
Senior Vice President, Precision Products
Philip Chesley is Senior Vice President of Intersil’s Precision Products. Prior to this appointment, he served in multiple positions of growing responsibility at Intersil including Vice President and General Manager of the High Performance Analog Products and Product Line Director for Intersil’s High Reliability product line. Mr. Chesley joined Intersil from Primarion, where he served for five years as founder and Director of Marketing and Application engineering overseeing Primarion’s digital control power business. Prior to this, Mr. Chesley served as Director of Marketing for Vivid Semiconductor, an analog semiconductor provider focused on solutions for the LCD display market. Mr. Chesley holds an MBA from Duke University Fuqua School of Business and a BS degree from Brigham Young University.
Senior Vice President, Mobile Power Products
Andrew Cowell is Senior Vice President of Intersil’s Mobile Power Products. Mr. Cowell joined Intersil from Micrel Semiconductor in 2011, where he served for four years as Vice President of Analog Marketing. Prior to this, Mr. Cowell served as the head of Micrel’s Strategic Applications division with responsibility for new product definition for power products. He also served in the role of Marketing and Applications Manager for the power product line. Prior to joining Micrel, Mr. Cowell worked for Siliconix Semiconductor where he held a variety of technical positions throughout the world. Mr. Cowell began his career as a design engineer at Advanced Power Supplies. Mr. Cowell holds a First Class Honors degree in Electronics from Middlesex University in the UK.
Senior Vice President, Corporate Strategy and Infrastructure Power Products
Mark Downing is Senior Vice President of Intersil’s Corporate Strategy and Infrastructure Power Products. Mr. Downing joined Intersil from Silicon Laboratories in 2013 where he served as Senior Vice President, Broad Based Products and as Vice President, Strategy and Business Development at Silicon Laboratories. Prior to joining Silicon Laboratories in 2007, Mr. Downing was the Chief Executive Officer and Director of privately-held Enpirion, a semiconductor company focusing on power management products. Before joining Enpirion, Mr. Downing served as Vice President of Marketing for Micrel where he was responsible for all product lines focused on high performance analog and communications ICs. Mr. Downing also served as Vice President of Marketing at Pericom Semiconductor where he was responsible for strategic, product and tactical marketing. From 1988 to 1997, Mr. Downing served in various strategic planning, marketing, product line management and applications management roles at National Semiconductor. Mr. Downing holds a BSc (Hons) in physics from Aston University in Birmingham, England and an MBA from the Open University, Milton Keynes, England.
Senior Vice President, Human Resources
Vern Kelley is Intersil’s Senior Vice President of Human Resources. Mr. Kelley joined Intersil in February 2003 from National Semiconductor where he was Vice President of Human Resources for the product divisions. In his 19-year tenure at National, Mr. Kelley held a variety of leadership positions within human resources and oversaw HR activities associated with National's acquisition, divestiture, and joint venture activities. His HR management experience includes development and implementation of performance management, success sharing, productivity improvement, and training and development programs. Before joining National in 1983, Mr. Kelley was a division employee relations manager for Allstate Insurance Company. Mr. Kelley earned a Master of Science degree in Organizational Behavior from Golden Gate University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of the Pacific. He is a recipient of the 2007 HR Symposium "HR Excellence" Award. He also served on the Board of Directors of the United Way Silicon Valley from 2005 to 2008.
Senior Vice President of Worldwide Operations
Andy Micallef joined Intersil in 2015 as the Senior Vice President of Worldwide Operations. He was previously the Vice President of Customer Engineering and Operations at Audience, a fabless semiconductor and software designer, where he oversaw all applications engineering, manufacturing, procurement, supply chain management, quality control, product engineering and facilities. Prior to Audience, he served as Executive Vice President of Worldwide Manufacturing and Operations at LSI Corporation, assuming this role through LSI's acquisition of Agere Systems in 2007. At Agere he was also responsible for global operations. Prior to that, Mr. Micallef held several finance and operations positions at Fujitsu-ICL Systems, and also IBM. He began his career at General Dynamics, where he worked as a mechanical and fluid systems design engineer. Mr. Micallef earned an MBA and MSME from the University of Michigan, as well as a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Notre Dame.
Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary
Tom Tokos is Intersil's Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. Mr. Tokos brings more than 20 years of legal management, corporate governance, mergers & acquisitions, and intellectual property experience to Intersil. He joined Intersil from Asyst Technologies, a semiconductor equipment designer and manufacturer, where he was vice president and General Counsel for the publicly traded company. Prior to Asyst, he was Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for VLSI Technology, SyQuest and a semiconductor design automation software company. Mr. Tokos earned a Juris Doctor degree with Honors from Georgetown University. He also holds a Masters degree in Physics and a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Ohio University.
Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales
Roger Wendelken joined Intersil in 2013 as the Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales. Mr. Wendelken has more than 20 years of sales experience in the semiconductor industry. Prior to joining Intersil, he was the Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales for Volex Corporation. Previously he led the global sales organization for SMSC before it was acquired by Microchip, building a presence in a variety of competitive consumer, industrial and automotive markets. Mr. Wendelken also served as Vice President of Worldwide Sales at AMCC and Marvell, where under his leadership, the sales team secured market share against larger competitors in key enterprise networking accounts. Mr. Wendelken holds a BSEE from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
