Few would consider the audio of an iPod® docking station on par with a home theater. Yet D2Audio® technology can considerably narrow the gap. 

D2Audio principal technologies give docking stations extraordinarily high sound quality. Not only is D2Audio sound measurably superior, it is brightened by SoundSuite. D2Audio SoundSuite™ envelopes the listener in exhilarating realistic sound, much like the sensation of listening to home theater. Two particular SoundSuite elements dramatically impact docking station audio. D2Audio WideSound™ uses advanced two-channel image field enhancements to widen the perceived sound stage, virtually surrounding the listener with audio. And D2Audio DeepBass™ adds sophisticated bass enhancements to docking stations using psycho-acoustics and dynamic filtering. Even more surprising, it can even add exceptional perception of bass in the absence of subwoofers.

To compensate for physically-limited low-frequency small subwoofers at low listening levels, while dynamically reducing its boost as listening levels rise, D2Audio also offer its unique Excursion control. Excursion control creates an optimum sub-woofer listening experience at all loudness levels. Excursion control, DeepBass and WideSound are included in all D2Audio docking station solutions.

D2Audio provides options for superior sound for iPod® docking stations with two D2Audio product families. The DAE-4 digital sound processors and DAE-4P sound processing amplifiers have a fixed signal flow, offer 2 channels of ASRC, 5 channels of PWM, and support SoundSuite and SRS WOW HD™. The DAE-4P sound processing amplifiers incorporate integrated power stages, providing high fidelity power of 2 channels with up to 25 watts. The DAE-4 provides independent PWM outputs for using with external power stages if higher power is desired.
