Xicor Introduces Integrated Dual Voltage CPU Supervisor
MILPITAS, Calif., March 18, 2002 - Xicor, Inc. (Nasdaq/NMS: XICO) today announced the release of X40626, a user programmable dual voltage CPU supervisor that integrates power-on-reset, a watchdog timer, and two low voltage sense monitors, along with 64K of on-chip EEPROM memory on a single device. All versions of these products communicate through the industry standard 400kHz 2-wire serial interface.
The X40626 features user-programmable functions that provide system designers with maximum flexibility to tune device parameters to meet exact system requirements. These features include:
- Programmable voltage reset trip points for two independent low voltage
monitors.
These low voltage monitors can be programmed to detect voltages as low as 2.0 volts. - User selectable watchdog timeout selection intervals ranging from 250
milliseconds to 1.5
seconds. The watchdog timer function can be disabled to facilitate system software debugging. - Embedded EEPROM memory with Block Lock. The memory array can be
partitioned to
protect one quarter, one half or all of the array.

According to Intex Management Services Limited (IMS), in 2001, the market for voltage supervision and voltage reference products was $469 million. This is expected to grow to $674 million in 2005. This market is driven by a broad range of industrial products and by growth in low power, portable communications products.
