Xicor® Announces Low Cost Industry Pin-Compatible Voltage Reference

MILPITAS, California December 10, 2003 Xicor, Inc. (NASDAQ: XICO), a leading supplier of high performance analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits, today announced the X60008EIS8-50, the latest addition to its family of precision voltage references manufactured using the companys proprietary Floating Gate Analog (FGA) technology.
At $0.99 for 1,000 piece quantities, the X60008EIS8-50 allows designers to improve their system performance while lowering the overall system cost. Since the X60008EIS8-50 is pin-compatible with many of the industry voltage references, no board layout changes are required and therefore, a faster time-to- market release can be achieved.
The X60008EIS8-50 allows the designer to achieve a performance range previously not available in this price range, commented Jules Farago, marketing manager. Until the introduction of the X60008EIS8-50, systems requiring this level of performance were constrained by cost burdens ranging from lows around $3.00 to more than $5.00 per device for these performance levels.
The X60008EIS8-50 is available in 8-lead SOIC with 1,000 piece prices starting at $0.99.
Xicor will continue to expand the X60008 family featuring additional voltage and performance options. The company also plans additional product family introductions including smaller packages and products designed for applications requiring fast transient response performance.
