Xicor® Announces 1 ppm/°C Precision Low-Power Voltage Reference

-- X60008A-50 Achieves 1 ppm/°C Temp-Co at 500 nA supply current over Operating Temp Range


MILPITAS, California – February 26, 2004 – Xicor, Inc. (Nasdaq: XICO), a leading supplier of high performance analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits, today announced the X60008A-50, an extremely stable, highly accurate, low power 5.0 V voltage reference fabricated in Xicor’s proprietary Floating Gate Analog (FGA™) technology. The X60008A-50 features guaranteed 1 ppm/°C maximum temperature coefficient, absolute initial accuracy of ±0.5 mV maximum and extremely low, 10 ppm thermal hysteresis. Operating power consumption is typically 500 nA with guaranteed 10 mA (source & sink) capability, and 80 mA continuous short circuit current.

“While initial accuracy is typically the first consideration when selecting a precision voltage reference, temperature coefficient must also be considered due to the impact of temperature variation on the reference output voltage,” observed Jules Farago, marketing manager. “Even devices with very tight initial accuracy specifications will be adversely impacted by temperature changes. Xicor’s X60008A-50 is tested and guaranteed to be 1 ppm/°C max over the full 125°C span of the industrial operating temperature range. The accuracy and thermal stability performance of the X60008A-50 in addition to the low 500 nA power consumption make it an ideal companion to high resolution, low power data conversion systems.”
