Xicor and IMPACT Memec Expand Partnership into Asia
--Pan-Asian distribution provides technical support for Xicor products.
MILPITAS, California and HONG KONG, China July 11, 2001 Xicor, Inc. (NASDAQ: XICO) and IMPACT Memec AP (IMPACT) of Hong Kong have extended their relationship to provide pan-Asian technical support and logistical services for Xicor products.
Xicor and IMPACT have expanded their distribution partnership to include China, Taiwan, Korea, India, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines and Indonesia. This announcement follows the previous announcement of a pan-European relationship, and more than doubles the level of customer support. Throughout Asia, IMPACT has a team of Field Application Engineers who will provide product support for existing products, and will be broadening support of Xicor products into new, more emerging markets. IMPACT will handle the full range of Xicor programmable mixed signal products, including CPU supervisors, real time clocks, digitally controlled potentiometers, fiber optic products and battery management IC's. With its technical support, knowledge and resources, IMPACT will be able to adopt a pro-active approach to distribution that enhances technical support for Xicor products in all Asian markets. This approach provides a direct synergy with, and closely mirrors Xicor's own business strategy.
