Xicor Adds Driver Support For LabVIEW 6i
--Latest release includes enhanced support for Xicor mixed signal products
Milpitas, California, August 13, 2001 - Xicor, Inc. (NASDAQ/NMS: XICO), today announced the release of LabVIEW 6i software drivers to support Xicor XDCP Products. This release is an upgrade of Xicor's popular LabVIEW Kit. The new drivers add support for:
- Xicor's advanced fiber optic biasing IC products (X952x, X953x)
- Xicor's innovative Audio Log-Taper DCP products
- Embedded memory found on Xicor's INTEGRATED System Management ICs
Available now, the Xicor LabVIEW Driver kit is a free download from the Xicor web site www.xicor.com.
"LabVIEW programming environment is highly scaleable empowering a large group of developers to jointly collaborate on product designs", said Tony Ochoa, marketing manager for Xicor's Programmable Mixed Signal Products. "The Xicor LabVIEW drivers used in conjunction with any of our programmable mixed signal products allows designers to reduce overall product and test development time while increasing their productivity for designs incorporating Xicor's XDCPs and fiber optic products."
The Xicor LabVIEW Drivers
Developed in cooperation with Cal-Bay System Inc. of San Rafael, the Xicor LabVIEW kit comes complete with an easy-to-use graphical user interface (GUI) that allows designers to quickly configure the user programmable features of Xicor's mixed signal products. The integrated environment uses low-level device drivers to allow programmability of specific features such as voltage gains, comparator threshold levels and other key analog parameters. Knowledge of the LabVIEW environment is not required to utilize the power and flexibility of the product.
"Weve used LabVIEW for over eight years in applications ranging from simple data acquisition applications to complex manufacturing test systems. LabVIEW software can provide an easy migration path from the concept to the manufacturing phase of a product design cycle", said Sorin Grama, project manager at Cal-Bay Systems.
The Xicor LabVIEW Kit includes schematics for the hardware interface that is connected via a PC parallel port. The Xicor LabVIEW GUI, device drivers and other low-level LabVIEW drivers are all included. The software operates with any PC running Microsoft Windows 98/NT/2000 operating system.
