Xicor® 3ppm/°C Temp-Co Voltage Reference Raises the Bar
-- X60008B-50 Achieves 3 ppm/°C Temp-Co at 500nA supply current over Operating Temp Range
MILPITAS, California October 20, 2003 Xicor, Inc. (Nasdaq: XICO), a leading supplier of high performance analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits, today announced the X60008BIS8-50, the latest addition to its family of precision voltage references manufactured using the companys proprietary Floating Gate Analog (FGA) technology. The X60008BIS8-50 raises the Temperature Coefficient performance bar by guaranteeing 3 ppm/°C maximum over the full device operating temperature range while maintaining precision performance specifications of ±500µV absolute initial accuracy, ultra low 500nA power consumption and 10 ppm/1000Hrs long-term stability.
Current voltage reference offerings that achieve 3ppm/°C or better temperature stability frequent ly include on board heaters to stabilize the chip at a fixed temperature, commented Jules Farago, marketing manager. Out of necessity, other voltage references at this performance level consume considerable supply current (100s of µA to several mA) and are both limited in availability and very expensive. Xicors FGA technology delivers this temperature stability at an extremely low 500nA of supply current at a reasonable price.
The X60008BIS8-50 in 8- lead SOIC is available now, with 1k unit prices starting at $6.15 USD.
Xicor will continue to expand the X60008 family with options that feature additional fixed reference voltages, better initial accuracy and lower temperature coefficients. The company also plans additional product family introductions including smaller packages and products designed for applications requiring fast transient response performance.
