New Intersil MightyMUX DPDT Analog Switch Delivers Best-In-Class R-ON Channel Matching in Space-Saving Near-Chip-Scale Packaging
MILPITAS, CA, June 4, 2003 Intersil Corporation (NASDAQ: ISIL), a world leader in the design and manufacture of high performance analog and wireless networking solutions, today announced a new addition to their rapidly growing MightyMUX high-performance low-voltage analog switch line the ISL43410 Double-Pole Double-Throw (DPDT) analog switch. This high-performance IC contains two bi-directional Single-Pole Double-Throw (SPDT) analog switches that can be used as a DPDT switch or a 2:1 differential multiplexer. Targeted applications include switching high-precision differential signals used in medical, communications, and test equipment.
Operating from a single +2 V to +12 V supply, the ISL43410 provides high precision performance. R(ON) is less than 50 Ohms at +12 V and 25 deg. C and R(ON) flatness is less than 10 Ohms guaranteed across input voltage and industrial temperature ranges. The best-in-class R(ON) channel matching is within 0.5 Ohms, or 1%, to maintain differential balance and reduce common-mode noise. Both the near-chip-scale 16-pad 3 X 3 mm Quad Flat No-lead (QFN) and 10-lead MSOP packages greatly conserve board space.
Other precision specifications for the ISL43410 include very low off-state leakage current of less than 2.5 nA at +85 deg. C, fast switching speeds of t(on) = 25 ns and t(off) = 24 ns with a 12-V supply and a minimal charge injection of 1.2 pC. All ICs are fully specified at +12 V, +5 V and +3.3 V to save designers characterization time and increase their confidence in the devices performance. Intersil offers more guaranteed specifications for these ICs than any competing products.
