Intersils Environmental Management System Achieves ISO 14001 Certification
Certifies Intersil’s environmental management system to voluntary international standard
IRVINE, CA, June 5, 2001 – Intersil Corporation (NASDAQ: ISIL) announced today that its Palm Bay, Florida operations have achieved ISO 14001 certification in recognition of the company’s environmental policies, procedures and pollution prevention measures. Intersil’s Environmental Management System was recommended for ISO 14001 certification by independent third party registrar Det Norkse Veritas (DNV).

Intersils Environmental Management System was recommended for ISO 14001 certification by independent third party registrar Det Norkse Veritas (DNV).
ISO 14001 is an internationally recognized voluntary standard that identifies the elements of any Environmental Management System (EMS) necessary for an organization to effectively manage its impact on the environment. The objective of the standard is to integrate the EMS with a companys overall business processes and systems so that environmental considerations are a routine factor in business decisions, recognizing that good environmental management makes sound business sense.
