PALM BAY, FL, February 3, 2000 Intersil Holding Corporation today unveiled an Internet-based service designed to provide product, order and shipment information on an on-demand basis. Dubbed "Interface," this online service provides Intersil's global customers with fast, up-to-date information including current product status, product pricing, delivery and lead times, current order status and delivery tracking.
"This online service offering is the first phase of Intersils multi-faceted approach to global customer care," said Michael Bennett, director of Intersils Global Customer Care Network. "This first Web-based step should provide immediate benefit to many of Intersils customers, giving them quick and easy access to product pricing, lead-times, order status and tracking information. Soon, we hope to unveil more customer care features that should improve response times and provide more automated services to our customer partners."
Among the major initiatives slated for Intersils Global Customer Care Network are increased automation of manual processes to ease information access, improvements in demand fulfillment to reduce transaction costs, and additional automation of on-demand information to help create a true e-commerce link between Intersil and its global customers. The targeted completion date for full implementation is July 2000.
