Intersil Surpasses 30 Million DSL Port Milestone

MILPITAS, CA, March 3, 2003 – Intersil Corporation (NASDAQ: ISIL), a world leader in the design and manufacture of high performance analog and wireless networking solutions, today announced that it has shipped more than 30 million digital subscriber line (DSL) ports since introducing the world’s first DSL line driver in 1995.

This kind of innovation allows our customers to focus on optimizing service offerings for their subscribers. We plan to build on our market leadership by expanding our Elantec DSL line driver portfolio, particularly with products tailored for the central office.”

Intersil’s Elantec DSL products are manufactured on a proprietary process, yielding higher performance ICs that deliver excellent current drive and fidelity while consuming very little quiescent power. The resulting lower power and smaller die size allows the IC to fit into a smaller package, reducing costs and improving efficiencies for DSL vendors.
