Intersil Promotes Dr. Rajeeva Lahri to Executive Vice President, Worldwide Operations and Technology Group
MILPITAS, CA, June 2, 2005 Intersil Corporation (NASDAQ: ISIL), a world leader in the design and manufacture of high performance analog solutions, today announced the promotion of Rajeeva Lahri to Executive Vice President, Worldwide Operations and Technology Group. In addition, Dr. Lahri will continue to serve as the Companys Chief Technology Officer. The Worldwide Operations and Technology Group include information systems, worldwide procurement, packaging, process technology, operations planning, fab operations, test & assembly, and foundry operations.
Rajeeva and his team have been instrumental in transforming our worldwide operations and technology group into a top performing organization. He has executed our Fab-Lite strategy which involves blending internal manufacturing in our Palm Bay and Milpitas locations with the use of outside partners for fab, probe, assembly, and test, said Rich Beyer, CEO and President. The worldwide operations and technology group has played a key role in the transformation of Intersil to a high performance analog semiconductor company.
Dr. Lahri has over 23 years of experience in a variety of technology and operations roles. Dr. Lahri joined Elantec in May 2001 as Sr. Vice President, Technology and Operations. In May 2002, after Intersils acquisition of Elantec, Dr. Lahri became Chief Technology Officer of Intersil. In August 2003, he took on overall responsibility for the Companys global operations and technology organizations.
Prior to Elantec and Intersil, Dr. Lahri held positions as Sr. Vice President and COO at Tessera Technologies Inc., a leading provider of miniaturization technologies for the electronics industry; Sr. Vice President and Deputy CTO at Philips Semiconductor; and Sr. Vice President, R&D and Customer Engineering at VLSI Technology, Inc.
Lahri holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from State University of New York, Buffalo, and MS degrees in Solid State Electronics and Physics from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India.
