Intersil Launches New MightyMUX 4:1 Multiplexer/Demultiplexer in Tiny 3 X 3 mm Package Offering Best-in-Class R-ON Channel-to-Channel Matching
-- Guaranteed specs, single +2 to +12 V supply, very low leakage and fast switching~-- High performance for precision medical, communications and instrumentation equipment
MILPITAS, CA, May 28, 2003 Intersil Corporation (NASDAQ: ISIL), a world leader in the design and manufacture of high performance analog and wireless networking solutions, today announced the new MightyMUX ISL43640 high-performance analog 4:1 bidirectional multiplexer/demultiplexer. This performance-leading IC provides best-in-class R(ON) channel-to-channel matching with just 1% variance to ensure output accuracy is maintained regardless of input source. Targeted applications include high-precision equipment used for medical, communications, and testing.
The ISL43640 operates from a +2 V to +12 V single supply (15 Vmax) and is fully specified at 12 V, 5 V and 3.3 V to save designers characterization time and increase their confidence in the devices performance. Intersil offers more guaranteed specifications over the full temperature and voltage ranges than any competing product.
The ISL43640 delivers exceptional performance in a very small package. The tiny, near-chip-scale, 16-pad 3 X 3 mm Quad Flat No-lead (QFN) package greatly conserves board space. A 10-lead 3 X 5 mm MSOP package option is also available. Important ratings at 12 V and 25 deg. C include an R(ON) of less than 50 Ohms, R(ON) channel-to-channel matching of 0.5 Ohms that provides a tight 1% deviation that minimizes channel bias, a very low open-switch leakage current of less than 1 nA to lengthen hold times in sample-and-hold-circuits, fast switching speeds of t(on) = 25 ns and t(off) = 24 ns to reduce propagation delays in timing sensitive applications and a charge injection of approximately 1 pC to preserve signal integrity.
