Intersil Introduces Industry's Fastest Rail-to-Rail Op Amps
-- New Elantec® EL810X single rail-to-rail op amps combine very high bandwidth and slew rate performance with very low current requirements
MILPITAS, CA, March 4, 2003 Intersil Corporation (NASDAQ: ISIL), a world leader in the design and manufacture of high performance analog and wireless networking solutions, today unveiled the initial products in a new family of rail-to-rail operational amplifiers tailored for the high performance, low power requirements of todays general purpose video, communication, instrumentation and industrial applications.
Intersils Elantec EL810X op amp family includes devices with 500 Megahertz (MHz) of gain bandwidth and slew rates up to 600 volts per microsecond, or nearly triple the slew rate of any 500 MHz rail-to-rail op amp at 3dB. Differential phase and differential gain characteristics are best in class at 0.005 degrees and 0.005 percent, respectively.
The latest addition to our growing family of Elantec operational amplifiers offer the highest bandwidth and slew rate on the market today, and at very competitive prices, said Sameer Vuyyuru, director of marketing for Video and Op Amps for Intersils Elantec Product Group. This initial offering of single op amps includes low power, low cost 200 MHz devices and high bandwidth, low distortion 500 MHz devices. They feature very low supply current and inputs that go to 0.1 volt below the voltage supply rail. These are the first products in a complete rail-to-rail family that will include single, dual, triple and quad op amps tailored for a wide range of video and communications applications for our customers.
The EL810X op amps operate from a single 5-volt power supply and are available with or without a fast-acting disable/power down circuit. EL8100 and EL8101 feature 3dB bandwidth of 200 MHz and a slew rate of 200 volts per microsecond. They operate off of a very low 2mA supply current and feature inputs that go to 0.1 volts below the supply rail. The EL8102 and EL8103 feature 3dB bandwidth of 500 MHz and slew rates of 600 volts per microsecond. They operate from a very low 5.6mA supply current and also feature inputs that go to 0.1 volts below the power supply rail. With 13 nanosecond disable and 200 nanosecond enable features, the EL8100 and EL8102 are ideally suited for multiplexing applications.
