Intersil Integrates Four Independent and Isolated Rad Hard MOSFETS into a Single Package

PALM BAY, FL, January 31, 2000 – Designers of satellite power conditioning and power switching applications can now implement multiple radiation hardened (Rad Hard) MOSFETs in a single package. Intersil’s FSR1110 device is a quad 100-volt (V), 680 milliohm (mohm) MOSFET that is rated to a total dose capability of 100,000 RADS.

Intersil’s FSR1110 is the latest addition to the FS family of Rad Hard MOSFETs that delivers Single Event Effects (SEE) protection. The FSR1110 offers designers the use of four independent and isolated devices in a single package. Compared to the implementation of four discrete devices, the single package option utilizes less board space and contributes to a lighter weight design. The FSR1110 packaging and silicon solution features low rds(on) and gate charge, minimizing both conduction and switching loss in satellite power systems.

About the FS Family
Intersil has developed a series of Rad Hard MOSFETs designed for military and space applications. The devices feature immunity to SEE and Single Event Gate Rupture (SEGR) and are rated to 100,000 RADS of total dose hardness. The portfolio includes N-Channel and P-Channel devices in a variety of voltage, current and on-resistance ratings.
