Intersil Increases Precision Op Amp Portfolio with New Dual 40V Precision Single-Supply Amplifier

Milpitas, CA – April 25, 2011 – Intersil Corporation (NASDAQ Global Select: ISIL) today added to its industry-leading high-precision operational amplifier portfolio with the introduction of the ISL28208, a precision, ground-sensing input, rail-to-rail output, 3V to 40V powered dual op amp that provides an unmatched solution for Industrial Control applications.
The ISL28208 features wide common-mode range inputs that function below ground and a rail-to-rail output that offers design flexibility for single or dual supply operation. Its rugged input stage provides tolerance to sustained input overloads. The device incorporates the precision, power efficiency, voltage range and ruggedness to operate in the most demanding applications. It features low offset voltage (230microV maximum), low temperature drift (0.1microV/°C typical), 123dB common mode rejection ratio and 128dB power supply rejection ratio where higher accuracy is needed in high-end instrumentation. In addition, the ISL28208 power consumption is only 2milliWatts per channel operating from a 12V supply.
Fabricated using Intersil's proprietary precision silicon-on-insulator (SOI) bipolar process technology, the ISL28208 exhibits extremely robust latch-up immunity. ESD ratings of 3KV human body model and 300V machine model increase system reliability in harsh industrial environments. As the newest member of the industry-leading Intersil PR40 process op amp portfolio, the ISL28208 provides the same wide 40V supply range as the previously announced ISL28218 but at even lower power. Overall, Intersil’s 40V op amp family provides the industry's best combination of accuracy, low noise and power consumption.
