IRVINE, Calif., September 1, 2000 Intersil, (NASDAQ: ISIL), a leading provider of power management solutions for todays integrated communications applications, announced today that the companys family of soft recovery rectifier diodes will be showcased at the Power Systems World 2000 Exhibition and Conference (PSW2000) held at the Bayside Expo and Convention Center in Boston, Mass., October 1 through October 5, 2000. Intersil will demonstrate its breakthrough technology in booth 333.
In addition to showcasing the recently introduced Stealth Diode that features high speed and soft recovery characteristics resulting in low electro-magnetic interference (EMI), Intersil will present its Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistors (IGBTs) designed for use in Switch Mode Power Supplies (SMPS). The SMPS IGBTs enable systems cost savings through increased power density and greater efficiency.
"Intersil is pleased to participate in the PSW2000 Exhibition and Conference," said Peter Holdman, Product Marketing Manager. "The show provides an excellent venue for Intersil to introduce its Stealth Diode technology to power electronics system designers who are seeking to reduce switching losses and improve electro-magnetic capability (EMC). This is an opportunity for Intersil to exchange ideas with customers and colleagues on EMI prevention techniques in the design process."
With the focus of moving power conversion technology into the 21st century, the PSW2000 show, held at the Bayside Expo and Convention Center is a venue for the semiconductor industry to unveil new products, services and join forces with electronic power conversion designers and specifiers in finding solutions to industry challenges.
About Stealth Diode
The Stealth diode is a semiconductor device designed for use in high power, high frequency circuits including AC-DC, DC-DC and DC-AC power conversion and motor drives. It combines the fast recovery characteristics of Hyperfast technology with "soft" recovery characteristics to achieve lower switching losses and improved Electro-Magnetic-Capability (EMC). This unique and new-to-the-world diode technology is being made available in 200V, 400V, 600V and 1200V.
