Intersil Corporation To Join NASDAQ-100 Index
MILPITAS, CA, December 12, 2003 Intersil Corporation (NASDAQ: ISIL), a world leader in the design and manufacture of high performance analog semiconductors, is being added to the NASDAQ- 100 Index during the 2003 rebalancing that takes effect December 22, 2003 upon market open, according to a NASDAQ-issued press announcement on the annual re-ranking made yesterday after market close.
Were very pleased to see Intersil Corporation join the ranks of the top 100 NASDAQ-listed companies, which include leading technology companies such as Cisco, Dell, Intel, and Microsoft, said Rich Beyer, president and CEO of Intersil. Once a year, NASDAQ adjusts the index's makeup so it consists of the 100 largest non-financial companies listed. The Nasdaq-100 Index rebalance is based on market capitalization, and is the basis for the Nasdaq-100 Tracking Stock the most actively traded listed U.S. equity security.
The NASDAQ-100 Index is the basis for some 400 financial products worldwide, and continues to be one of the worlds most widely followed indicators of financial market activity, said John L.
