Intersil Corporation Opens New Design Center in Hyderabad, India.

MILPITAS, CA, September 17, 2007 – Intersil Corporation (NASDAQ Global Select: ISIL), a world leader in the design and manufacture of high-performance analog solutions, today announced the opening of a new design center in Hyderabad, India staffed with experienced semiconductor designers. The new design center will augment ongoing product development efforts at the Bangalore design center and further expand Intersil’s presence in the Asia-Pacific region.

“India is an exciting market and well-positioned for phenomenal growth,” said Dave Bell, Intersil’s president and Chief Operating Officer. “We know from experience that India is also home to many talented engineers. The talent in this new design center, in conjunction with our design center in Bangalore, will allow us to expand our development of high-performance analog ICs.”

The opening of the Hyderabad design center in addition to the existing Bangalore design center will help Intersil attract top design talent in India. The team, which should ramp to over thirty engineers by the end of 2007, will accelerate Intersil’s product initiatives in analog mixed signal and power management products allowing Intersil to bring innovative products to market faster.
