Intersil Announces the World's First Four-Channel, Current Feedback Amplifier with 500 MHz of Gain Bandwidth and 5000V/us Slew Rate
--EL5462 offers very high performance at extremely low power consumption~--Ideal for high-speed video and monitor applications, handheld, portable or battery-powered equipment
MILPITAS, CA, March 14, 2005 Intersil Corporation (NASDAQ: ISIL), a world leader in the design and manufacture of high performance analog solutions, today announced the EL5462, the world's only ultra-wideband, low-power, four-channel current feedback amplifier featuring a high slew rate of 5000V/us and 500MHz of gain bandwidth on all four channels. With a supply current of just 1.5mA and the ability to operate off a split +/-5V or single 5V to 10V supplies, the EL5462 is the industry's fastest quad amplifier making it highly suitable for space-constrained applications where driving multiple signals in parallel with minimal distortion is required. The device has the ability to drive heavy loads and to replicate even square waves effortlessly because of its super high slew rate.
"The EL5462 is clearly the industry's fastest, best quality, highest performing and lowest power consuming current feedback amplifier," said Simon Prutton, VP/GM of Intersils Analog & Mixed Signal Products Group. "Our customers need to drive high quality video for their products and the EL5462 with its combination of performance attributes makes it ideal for such applications."
The EL5462 has an improved output stage that provides 100mA output drive on less than 1.5mA power consumption. Available in a 14-pin SO package, the EL5462 operates over the industrial temperature range of 40 degrees C to +85 degrees C. These industry-leading features make the EL5462 ideal for today's high-speed video and monitor applications, handheld, portable or battery-powered equipment.
