Intersil and The Memec Group Announce Expanded Distribution Agreement
— Memec will now be an authorized Intersil distributor in Japan
MILPITAS and SAN DIEGO, CA, January 7, 2004 Intersil Corporation (NASDAQ: ISIL), a world leader in the design and manufacture of high performance analog semiconductors, and The Memec Group announced that they have entered into an agreement that authorizes Memec to distribute Intersil products in Japan. While Unique Memec in the Americas and Europe and Impact Memec in Southeast Asia previously offered Intersil products, The Memec Group has expanded their relationship to cover Japan.
As a result of the expanded agreement, Memec will offer Intersils high performance analog solutions in Japan and also utilize their respective networks of field application engineers to strengthen technical support and new product introduction efforts on a more global basis. The Memec Group will supply systems that analyze customer information, track inventory and address customer supply chain requirements. In addition, Memec United, the global EMS services division, will roll out innovative fulfillment models for the EMS and OEM customers.
We are pleased to expand Intersils relationship with The Memec Group and have them as an authorized distributor in Japan, said Alden Chauvin, vice president of worldwide sales for Intersil. They continue to impress us with their ability to drive customer demand for our high performance analog products and to provide the demand management services our customers require.
Memecs commitment to bringing leading edge technologies to our customers is well suited to Intersils market position as a top-tier supplier of high performance analog and power management solutions, said David Ashworth, president and CEO, The Memec Group. Adding Japan to this global relationship with Intersil strengthens and reaffirms Memecs strategy.
