Intersil Addresses Proxim Lawsuit

IRVINE, Calif. — March 16, 2001 — Intersil Corporation (NASDAQ: ISIL), a leading provider of silicon technology for wireless access and communications analog markets, today offered comments on a patent infringement lawsuit filed by Proxim on March 8, 2001.

"Based upon our preliminary analysis of Proxim’s allegations, we feel that their claims of patent infringement are absolutely without merit," said Greg Williams, Intersil President and CEO.
