Elantec Semiconductor, Inc. Introduces A New High Power ADSL Driver Family
Low distortion xDSL driver for full power ADSL applications
MILPITAS, CALIFORNIA, October 2, 1998 Elantec Semiconductor, Inc., (NASDAQ: ELNT), a leader in high-performance analog ICs, today introduced two new xDSL line driver products.
The EL1504C and EL1505C are designed to be used in both CAP and DMT ADSL applications, as well as other xDSL formats. The EL1504C is available in a 20-Pin Wide SO package and can be used for full power, 6Mb/s, 18,000ft ADSL applications. The EL1505C comes in a smaller 16-Pin Wide SO package and is for use in applications that do not require the full bandwidth / transmission distance. Both devices are pin compatible with the original EL1501C transceiver, but have no receive capability. This provides a power saving of up to 240mW compared to the EL1501C.
"These products offer drive capability equivalent to that of the EL1501C, without the receive amplifiers.", said Michael Jennings, product line manager for communications products. "This is of particular interest to customers developing central office solutions who can benefit from the reduced power dissipation and lower cost."
Pricing for the EL1504C and EL1505C is $4.90 in 10K quantities. Data sheets, samples, demo boards and production quantities are available now.
Elantec Semiconductor designs, manufactures and markets high-performance analog integrated circuits primarily for the video/multimedia, data processing, instrumentation and communications markets. The company targets high growth commercial markets in which advances in digital integrated circuits technology are driving increasing demand for high-speed, high performance and low power consumption analog circuits.
