Elantec Semiconductor, Inc. Files Registration Statement For Public Offering Of 1,600,000 Shares Of Common Stock
MILPITAS, CALIFORNIA, August 16, 2000 - Elantec Semiconductor, Inc. (NASDAQ: ELNT) today announced that it has filed a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission related to the proposed public offering of 1,600,000 shares of Common Stock. Of the total, 1,520,000 shares will be offered by the Company and 80,000 shares will be offered by selling stockholders. Robertson Stephens is acting as lead-manager. Banc of America Securities LLC, Thomas Weisel Partners LLC, and Adams, Harkness & Hill, Inc. will co-manage the underwriting group.
The offering is expected to include a 30-day option to the underwriters to purchase up to an additional 240,000 shares of Common Stock from the Company solely to cover over-allotments, if any.
The Company intends to use the proceeds from the offering primarily for general corporate purposes, including working capital and capital expenditures, and for potential strategic investments or acquisitions.
