Elantec Introduces Two Ultra Low Noise Amplifiers For Medical Imaging, Communications, Sensor Applications
With a noise specification under 1nV/root-Hz, new EL2125C and EL2126C provide optimal signal amplification with superb signal-to-noise performance
MILPITAS, CALIFORNIA, September 19, 2001 -- Elantec Semiconductor, Inc. (NASDAQ: ELNT), a leader in high-performance analog ICs, today introduced two new ultra low noise amplifiers -- the EL2125C and EL2126C. Both are designed for applications such as medical imaging, communications and sensor interface, where very low-level signals need to be amplified, and low noise is critical to overall system accuracy.
The EL2125C features an exceptionally low noise specification of just 0.83nV/root-Hz and a current noise specification of just 2.1pA/root-Hz. With a bandwidth of 215MHz at -3dB at the minimum gain of 10, the EL2125C consumes only 10mA of supply current. The lower supply current EL2126C features a 135MHz bandwidth at a gain of 10, noise and current specifications of 1.3nV/root-Hz and 1pA/root-Hz respectively, and operates on just a 4.5mA supply current.
Michael Jennings, Director of Strategic Marketing for Video and Amplifier Products at Elantec, said, "Continuing our commitment to the general purpose amplifier market, these new low noise amplifiers broaden Elantec's offering in the medical imaging and communications market, to whom we already sell a number of our other general purpose amplifier and video products."
Both the EL2125C and EL2126C are available in the industry standard 8-Pin SOIC package, as well as the space saving 5-Pin SOT23 package. Pricing for the EL2125C and EL2126C is $2.25 and $1.90, respectively, for 1000-piece quantities.
