Elantec Introduces New Quad Rail-To-Rail, Input-Output Op-Amp In LPP Package
The EL5420CL amplifier provides the ideal solution for TFT-LCD reference voltage buffering applications where component height is restricted
MILPITAS, CALIFORNIA, June 7, 2001 -- Elantec Semiconductor, Inc. (NASDAQ: ELNT), a leader in high-performance analog ICs, today introduced the new EL5420CL voltage feedback amplifier in a low profile LPP package. The high slew rate, low power consumption and rail-to-rail input/outputs make the EL5420CL an ideal choice for LCD-TFT voltage buffering applications. The EL5420CL features 4 voltage feedback amplifiers with 12MHz bandwidth, 10V/µS slew-rate and only 500µA supply current per channel. The outputs of these amplifiers are capable of driving to within 80mV of the rails with a 5mA load, and the inputs are able to operate at 0.5V beyond the supply rail voltages.
Michael Jennings, Director of Strategic Marketing at Elantec says, "The continuing trend in decreasing the height of today's high-end notebooks is forcing the LCD manufacturer to provide lower profile LCD modules. At just 0.9mm height, the EL5420C in the LPP package is one of the thinnest IC packages available for this application offering a 0.2mm height advantage over the currently available TSSOP package and 0.8mm over the industry standard SOIC package." The EL5420CL is available in production quantities now, priced at $2.00 each in 1,000-unit quantities.
