Elantec Introduces New 400MHz And 200MHz Fixed Gain Amplifiers
These new fixed gain amplifiers offer high bandwidth, high slew rate, low supply current and low cost
MILPITAS, CALIFORNIA, June 29, 2000 -- Elantec Semiconductor, Inc. (NASDAQ: ELNT), a leader in high-performance analog ICs, today introduced two new fixed gain amplifiers, configurable for gains of +1, -1 or +2.
The EL5196C (400MHz) and EL5197C (200MHz) amplifiers represent the first fixed gain amplifiers from Elantec and feature identical bandwidths in both gain-of-1 and gain-of-2 configurations. With a bandwidth of 400MHz, the EL5196C features a slew rate of 3000V per microsecond, while operating from just 9mA of supply current. The EL5197C offers a bandwidth of 200MHz with a slew rate of 2200V per microsecond and a supply current of just 4mA. Both are available with a fast-acting disable/power-down operating in just 10ns, with re-enabling occurring in just 25ns, making these devices ideal for multiplexing applications.
Michael Jennings, Director of Strategic Marketing for Video and Amplifier Products at Elantec says, "With the gain setting resistors internal to the amplifier, the EL5196C and EL5197C reduce the board space requirement and component count in simple gain applications."
Both the EL5196C and EL5197C are available in the industry standard 8-Pin SOIC package, as well as the SOT23-5 and SOT23-6 packages. The enable feature is available in the SOIC and SOT23-6 packages only. The EL5196C with a bandwidth of 400MHz is priced at $1.60 in 1000-piece quantities. The EL5197C is a 200MHz device, priced at just $1.40 in 1000-piece quantities.
