Elantec Introduces Low-Power Sync Separator
New EL1881C targets high-volume consumer applications
MILPITAS, CALIFORNIA, August 8, 2001 -- Elantec Semiconductor, Inc. (NASDAQ: ELNT), a leader in high-performance analog ICs, today introduced the EL1881C, a low-cost, low-power sync separator. The EL1881C is pin compatible with the industry-standard LM1881, as well as with Elantec's high-performance EL4581C.
Providing the standard video timing outputs, the EL1881C is designed for use in component and in composite video systems, where it can process NTSC, PAL, SECAM, S-video, RGB, and YUV video signals. The EL1881C can be used to reduce power in existing designs, and provides a cost-effective solution for new video designs. The low power and low cost of the EL1881C make it an ideal choice for high volume video applications such as televisions, projectors, processing boards and security cameras.
Michael Jennings, Director of Strategic Marketing, Video and Amplifier Products, said, "The EL1881C is a lower power, pin compatible replacement for the LM1881. Fabricated on a CMOS process, the EL1881C reduces power consumption to a maximum of only 15mW on a 5V supply, a 70% savings over the LM1881. We have priced this part competitively, and expect the EL1881C to find design wins in a number of high volume consumer applications."
The EL1881C is available in both the 8-pin SOIC and 8-pin P-DIP packages. It is priced at $1.15 in quantities of 1,000-pieces.
