Distinguished Professors from Stanford to Address International Engineering Conference at Intersil Corporation


MILPITAS, CA, Nov. 14, 2007 – Intersil Corporation (NASDAQ Global Select: ISIL), a world leader in the design and manufacture of high-performance analog semiconductors, today announced that Dr. Thomas H. Lee and Dr. Boris Murmann of Stanford University will be among the presenters at Intersil’s first-ever International Engineering Conference (IEC), to be held this week in Milpitas.

Dr. Lee heads the Stanford Microwave Integrated Circuit Laboratory (SMIrC) which he founded in 1994. The SMIrC laboratory has long been a driving force in developing the theory of radio frequency (RF) CMOS integrated circuit design as well as in educating tomorrow's RFIC designers.

Dr. Murmann heads the Rethinking Analog Design (RAD) effort at Stanford, a research initiative focusing on development of a new generation of interface and RF electronics that exploit holistic circuit and system level co-design, to enable order-of-magnitude improvements in performance and power dissipation.

The conference will bring together these leading academics with Intersil technology experts from around the world and across more than 40 different product lines, to exchange the latest engineering breakthroughs, case studies and tutorials in high-performance analog technology.

The IEC will feature the presentation of more than 25 research papers, authored by Intersil designers, applications and packaging engineers, and technology and process developers. Topics include analog design, applications, process and packaging, power management, precision analog and switches, data converters and digital electronics. About Intersil
