Digital Video Data Distribution (Serialiser/Deserialisers)
Intersil’s Video Distribution SERDES technology enables high robust video and control data transport throughout the automotive environment. These devices convert wide parallel video data to a single differential pair, then reproduce it back to its original parallel format. Our embedded side channel allows the elimination for the need of unnecessary CAN / LIN control nodes, improving cost, reliability, and routability.
Our Automotive SERDES Family features:
- 16 or 24-Bit RGB transport over a single differential pair.
- Up to 1.2Gbit/s transport speed
- I2C driven side channel
- Capable of communicating with microcontrollers or I2C clients using the same video twisted pair.
- Cable compensation: transmit pre-emphasis and receiver equalization permit robust transmission over long and/or inexpensive cables.
- Software programmable, 16 levels.

- 8B / 10B data coding enables AC coupling.
